Should Ireland have a referendum on the same day as Scotland?

It doesn't seem fair that the Irish had to fight for 800 hundred years to get partial independence from the UK when the Scots can simply vote their way out of the Union. Do you think Ireland should have a referendum on the same day as the Scots to decide whether the North should remain part of the UK? I would be in favour of it.

No, because Ireland is no longer part of the Union.

Northern Ireland is, so they can vote if they want. Makes no difference to me.

Seems rather pointless, we all know what the outcome will be.

Only the secretary of state can call for a referendum in Northern Ireland. So no, this won't happen.

The Good Friday Agreement is the only way for Ireland to ever be united.

Your post does not make sense.
Ireland is not part of the UK. We are a separate country.
With regard to Northern Ireland having a referendum on remaining part of the UK or not; it would be pointless.
The majority of people in Northern Ireland do not want to be part of Ireland as it is broke.
The majority of people in the UK do not want Northern Ireland to remain part of the UK due to the running costs.
Northern Ireland is not capable of Governing itself. Stormont could not be independent from the Dail and Westminister as Northern Ireland cannot sustain its own population without handouts.
Republicans might want Northern Ireland, but their support is at an all time low both in Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Unionists might want Ulster to be independent from the UK, but it is not possible in the fiscal sense.
Scotland is capable of Governing itself, and sustaining its population independently from Westminster; therefore it is worthwhile having a referendum.
The way I see it is this; the people in the UK don't want Northern Ireland, nor do the people of Ireland. If Northern Ireland did become independent nothing would change for the people in Ireland, so its irrelevant.
Northern Ireland is just a drain on the UK Government.
