    The Chelsea defender had accepted an invitation to give a talk at Abbey School and everything was going to plan - until he stepped onto the grass that is.
    After a Q&A session the students coaxed the 31-year-old into an impromptu game of football, which started off harmlessly enough.
    But once the commanding centre-back stepped onto the pitch, his competitiveness got the best of him and tried to execute one of his trademark interceptions.
    This turned out to be a costly mistake for the Blues captain, as he took a blow to the groin after getting in the way of a pass.
    Never one to be fazed by injury, the defender laughed off the incident and continued to play with the students.
    Terry said afterwards: 'They were good actually, I had a couple of kids marking me, they wouldn’t let me go anywhere. It was tougher than the Premier League.
    'It’s good fun and for me it’s great to get on the pitch and play with them and it’s an opportunity as well so hopefully they enjoyed it.'
