Was looking for a set of these for an old vw. Was surprised to see that they were around 80 euro from eireplates. Anyone cheaper than this, seems very expensive :p

I think the Autojumbler charges about the same?
Ace Peak are about €170 a set if you want to go nuts...:)

Is it old Irish, ZV or year plates?

No just for an original Irish reg car , but wanted to get the red in black and white in front with raised digits as those were the ones around in late 70s early 80s. but was taken aback at the price of them .:p

I think the price may be a reflection of the lack of black plastic 3.5" digits.

It's easy enough to get hold of 3.125" digits in black plastic, and 3.5" digits in white/silver/grey plastic or cast aluminium.

So either plastic/cast ones have to be painted up black and a set of cast plates will easily cost double.

Yeah they are pricey but we dont have a huge margin on them. Give us a call and we can discuss what you need exactly.

they might cost more than a set of pressed aluminium plates but as they say, "the quality remains long after the price is forgotten" :) . I got mine at Eireplates, highly recommended...

People should be supporting the likes of eireplates. Without them where would you be able to get the correct plate for your car. €80 is a bargain. You will pay €20 to €30 for the current euro plates.

+1! It is a good service.

I agree that eireplates provide a quality service , I have bought from Trevor before. I spoke to him and he explained the cost and the margin that he had on these plates. Now while I still think they are expensive , I understand that every business has to make a profit. I have placed my order today and will put a pic up when I receive my plates.;)

Have used Eireplates a couple of times and will happily do so again.

To be honest there is nothing more I hate than those black and silver pressed plates on a classic especially on an Irish car, 80 eoro might be deemed a little steep but as a finishing touch for you're pride and joy it's not that bad.

Thanks for the feedback and kind words.

Next step up are these Ace Peaks. You would really need to rob the piggy bank for these @ nearly 3 times the price of the plastic rivited digits!!
