I'd say it could well be.

The fashion for big watches is about to peak IMO ...in 20 years time we might well be back to smaller watches and your son might end up hating his "clown watch".

I'd play it safe and go smaller.

What physical dimensions are you? That is likely to have as much impact on suitability as the fashion for large watches. Personally, I don't find 45.5mm PO to be big nor my 46.2mm Big Pilot. A Railmaster XXL looks good on me too. But them I am the size of 3 normal people.

45 mm is certainly not oversize for a 7.5" wrist ...but it might well be oversized for the fashion of 20 years down the line, regardless of wrist size.

(plus your youngster might turn out to be slim ...you never know)

I have the 45mm version and I don't consider it too big. Some of the pilot watches dwarf it.

I have a 7.5" wrist also, and have a Super Avenger (48mm) and Zenith Defy (46.5mm). However, i do think that the PO on bracelet wears very large. I'd prefer it on a strap myself. Having said that, I remember buying a Tag Carrera several years ago, and being concerned that it was too big. It was 39mm :D
You very quickly 'get used' to larger watches. If you're concerned, then try one on. Plenty of stockists in Dublin at least.

In the last thread DT was at least pretending to be buying this watch for his son ...you're all encouraging him to just buy it outright for himself :D

    Ouch.....:)

I must complain to a Mod ( oh you are one...Thats me screwed :p) that my Character is being assignated

However, from all yer travels and visits to stores, how much is a new PO going for these days?

My son shall be delighted and naturally I must test it before he gets it:D

A new "old style" PO is around GBP2800 or so. You should be able to get at least a 10% - 15% discount on that.

The new one I'm not sure about. I tried one on recently with the rubber strap and I think it was around GBP3500 but i can't really remember. I'd hate to know te cost of it with a bracelet.
The new one is stunning but I wouldn't change my PO. I love it. Good size (42mm) and classic looks. That's my opinion anyway.
