    Hi folks. I am looking for a cheap PC and have searched Adverts but everything seems overpriced. I spotted this on Donedeal, is it good value...

    those gx280's are about 6-7 years old now
    we throw a load out a few years ago as they are so slow now
    they also had a known fault with the power supply on that model so make sure it powers up
    I wouldn't pay more than 80-100 for that one or less

    I think some of those older Dells have dodgy mobo capacitors on some of them, Uncle had huge trouble with one I thought might have been PSU related but I then found out about the bad caps.

    those were the gx260's
    pain in the arse, as I was nearly seeing 1 every week coming into me
    I'm hearing that there is a problem with the new GX980 model having faulty mobo's
    ah fun times :rolleyes:

    That one sold for 150 afterwards...

    Any idea where I can pick something cheap up.. I need it asap.

    GX280 slimlines werent much better either.... the capacitors on the motherboard used to pop very often
