    Ask around your guests. They may know someone or they themselves may be happy to do it.

    Try the local choir/folk group etc. that play weekly in the church.

    I can't remember how much we saved but it was enough to warrant engaging them.

    They only asked for a donation towards their yearly outing.

    hi there EveT
    im an instrumental player form the midlands, and ill glady tell you what i/we could do for you.
    i play with a vast amount of trad players, have access to any kind of musicians/friends all over the country, most of whom are well used to the wedding church vibe, and who generally like steering away from singing the old and new favorites; far from giving them stick!
    what kind of instrumentals are you talking about? irish, italian, classical, baroque and even our own o carolan all have a vast amount of wedding marches/tunes that can sit well on their own in a wedding situation.
    if your interested PM me for more;
    le meas
