i live on the edge of town and have a sewerage tank. my neighbours right next door are connected to the town sewage, the council stopped there and did not connect the last 4 houses on the road.

anyhow, what I'm wondering is are people connected to town sewage facing extra charges for the upkeep of the town system?

lol thanks, could have got myself into all sorts of trouble

    No.

The proposed new charges are for inspections of existing waste water treatment systems & will more than likely be paid to independent inspectors. It has nothing to do with the council & is being driven by an EU directive on manangement of of groundwater & river basins.

There is a thread in Acc and Property here
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=74282233
You're probably better off asking in a specialised forum.

Edit, starbelgrade seems to have answered the question.
