Jesus he had absolutely no idea how to get out of that, the LAST thing you do is brake. I had the same thing happen to me, and had to use a fair bit of road but got it under control by gently accelerating and steering into the swing.

hard enough keeping an L200 on the road, even without a trailer.

    Nasty incident though.

Any idea of the speed at the time?
I hope driver and poss passengers were ok. Could have been a whole lot worse for other road users there.
It should be a lesson to anyone pulling a trailer. Similiar car\van\4x4 and trailer combos pass me on motorway when I'm doing 110 - 120 ish.

No idea. It's not my video and there's no additional information on youtube.

Does that mean you had no choice but to turn around and .... oh no...not..... drive through Cavan Town . Are you okay. What do the locals look like. Is it true that a dark cloud hangs over the very centre of town, spilling out horrible, grumpy, miserable people. If you need any help getting over this just talk to us. We're here to help.

Looking at it again, and comparing to my own fisheye lens camera, It was nowhere near even 100kmh.

70-80 maybe max I'd have guessed. I doubt speed was a factor. It looks more like its a downhill section and he lifted off the power a bit to suddenly and unsettled the trailer.

I'd imagine he turned around and went home. I know I would, rather than having to make my way through hickville.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Dunno about that. Perhaps if you have a very powerful towing vehicle (that's way heavier than the trailer), but in most cases I'd say you really do not want to increase your speed

The best chance to avoid an accident is to keep off the accelerator and pump the brakes gently every time the trailer is straight behind the towing vehicle

Your man is braking while the trailer is at the outside of the swing. I agree that's probably the worst thing to do :D

Its almost comical the way the trailer throws the jeep around, looks like a helpless dog being swung by its tail!

    Hope the driver was ok.

That driver was damn lucky the whole lot didnt go off the bridge.

Looking at the height of the trailer and where it happened, I wonder did he get caught by a crosswind?

Often if you increase your speed as it starts to go, it will smooth out the wobble. Once it starts to go then obviously you don't want to floor it, but planting on the brakes when it's trying to overtake you will spell disaster. It only ever happened to me once, with a Tow-a-van that was fairly fully packed and the weight was all towards the back of the trailer. Hopefully more people will take the trailer test now that they seem to be clamping down on it.

Apologies for spelling it "break", don't know what was wrong with me..

Pretty sure its not an L200 but I'd say its the first time the driver experienced the likes of this as s/he had no clue how to use the brakes but then again it happens so fast you don't have time to think properly.

That bridge is about 10-15 metres up too. Also quite lucky the cars coming the other way weren't closer (or going faster) when he lost control.
