On the phone so no fancy graphics.

I assume City are away? I predict a 3rd defeat in a row. :pac:

    Easy win for Wigan! :pac:

In seriousness though, if City have realistic ambitions of the Title then this is a game they really need to be winning.

    Prediction: Wigan 0-3 City

Wigan normally put up a decent fight against city. But can't see it happening this time around. 0-2 for me

BBC Text Commentator seems up for a bit of comedy

1900: Christmas seems a while ago. Summer is even further away. You're skint. It's freezing. Cruise ships are sinking and Darlington are going out of business. Yep, it's 'Blue Monday' alright - statistically the most depressing day of the year. But wait - before you succumb to an evening alone consisting of a Pot Noodle and Eastenders, the football gods have sent us all to Wigan. Where the sun always shines and the beer flows like wine. Come aboard for Wigan v Manchester City...

1905: Like a madman losing his senses on a runthrough of New Order's greatest hits, let's skip Blue Monday and concentrate on the football. It's top v bottom. Multi-millionaires v mere millionaires. A chance for City to move three points clear at the top, or a chance for Wigan to clamber off the bottom and right out of the drop zone altogether. Let's not mess about - this is a massive game. Potentially the most exciting Monday in Wigan since the opening of a fourth Greggs.

Nasri playing and Johnson on the bench is a joke.

Will probably get no replies but....

    Wee competition for the match:-

    Predict:-

    The time of first goal.

    Total number of corners.

    Time of first corner.

    Time of first booking.

    Number of first scorer.

Add them together, closest wins feck all but my admiration.

The time of first goal. - 7 mins

    Total number of corners. 12

Shouldn't he be with Gervinho so?

Anyways, this is a decent enough scoreline for Wigan at halftime. Could be better, but could well be worse with the state of their defence. Hold out in the second half and nick a goal(or two) hopefully.

Dzeko just robbed Aguero of something magical!

This is reminding me of that Chlesea Wigan game!!:(

Dzeko took it off Aguero and simply passed it back to Al Habsi as if to say "stop taking the piss".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,537 ✭✭✭joseph brand

Dzeko looks like Lee Evans. Every time I see him.

    Important save there!

McCarthy has been brilliant out there tonight. Genuinely don't think he has done anything wrong in this match, and from an Irish point of view I am extremely impressed. He looks so comfortable on the ball, and really puts in a shift both going forward and tracking back. Have to say I thought people were over hyping him as I don't usually watch Wigan play but when I have he hasn't looked out of the ordinary, but tonight he has been their best player by a distance IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,630 ✭✭✭steelcityblues

McCarthy is too good to be at Wigan.

Nothing wrong with that De Jong tackle
