The Drive is in use by another Program

I have a Sony HandyCam and every time I try to import content to my laptop I get the message "The Drive is in use by another Program".
I can import no problem on another laptop but it's just a bit slow lately so I'd prefer to use this one.
Anybody have any idea what this message means?

Exactly what it says, its being accsesed through another program. Say if your viewing the files with MS photoviewer directly from the drive, it will give you this error if you tried to copy the data over whilst viewing the files.

Close down all programs running in the background that might be giving you this problem & try it again. Reboot too if you have to, disconnecting & reconnecting the cam.

Which ones would they be,sorry I'm not very good at this stuff?

Handiest thing then is to turn off the Laptop and then connect up the CAM when you restart, before you open any programs.

I'll try that at the weekend as I'm away for a few days
