    Folks. I have a bit of a headache trying to pick a new family car
    I have about 5k to spend on somethign 2nd hand, 7 seater

    Today we seen
    1) 2005 Renault Grand Scenic , 50k miles. nct till July 2013. price 5250.
    or
    2 ) 2006 Renault Grand Scenic, 94k miles, Nct Till jan 2014, price 4000 , fan belt and timing belt changed at 78k miles.

    What would you go for and why ? both are petrol

    Op, go for the car with the better service history, if that is the car you want to get. At the same time, there are plenty of other options in that price bracket, but it is your choice. The 2006 model seems like a better bet to me though, but without seeing them myself, I cannot say for sure. A timing belt change would be worth a few bob in its own right.

    Again, the car with a fuller service history would win my bet. Oh, and proof of work done, of course.
