A high IQ is an innate personal trait, it has nothing to do with receiving a good education etc, so maybe those findings are accurate.

Well, I think we can assume that entire countries - most of central Africa - being measured at retardation levels ( < 70 IQ) is biased, or inaccurate.

I have actually read it, too. And looked at his methodology. Luckily for him, at the time, Ireland's IQ came in at about Ireland's relative position in Europe's economic GDP - about half standard deviation from the Western European average GDP.

That might be a co-incidence ( since it is what he is trying to prove - economic GDP and IQ are linked, except for ex-Communist nations), but his findings in Ireland were based on two schools, one with an IQ of 80, the other with an iQ of 100.

Two aint enough, and is cherry picked. I assume that is true elsewhere.

You will see that it's highly developed 1st world countries at the top.

If IQ was innate then there'd be little difference between countries surely?

Well, not for Lynn. The book is racist. Thats not a modern PC usage of the term racist to define something which may, or may not, be racist despite what the writer thinks. The authors in this case have a racial, or ethnic reason for differences in GDP related to differences in IQ.

If so what is the point in conducting these surveys. No matter what the results prove or disprove they will be open to interpretation along racial lines if it suits certain people

I'd be shocked if there wasn't a causative correlation between and ethnicity. Black people have different shaped skulls to white people. They have different colour skin, they have many traits and features that are different. Why is the brain immune from being different but the skin isn't?

Well in my experience IQ (or rather the results of an IQ test) can change over time...but talking about IQ is largely pointless as their are multiple tests to take, and 101 result on one test may be a greater achievement that a 105 on another.

To be honest IQ levels dont acvount for ****. I always got pretty high scores in IQ tests, excess of 130, and i am currently struggling in college because i'm a bit lazy and i cant just learn off things without understanding it to regurgitate in the exam. Also i might have fairly poor social skills.

Also i've met a lot of guys with pretty high IQs who are fairly dim oce you get to know them.

At the end all that matters is the amount of time, work and commitment you're willing to put in whatever you do and that's what'll get you good results. Not just scoring high in an IQ test.
