    Just a basic query here, are we entitled to claim back the full cost of an eye-test through PRSI, or only claim back 20% tax through the revenue?

    Not sure about the PRSI, but eyetests are not an allowable expense for taxation purposes.

    SW24 (Jan 2012 version) covers optical benefit. You may be entitled to have your eye test paid for so long as it's not done for driving or using a VDU - the full eye test is longer and more detailed than these tests. Qualifying conditions in leaflet. Ring the treatment benefit section of the Department of Social Protection to see if you qualify 1890 400 400

    I'm not sure but you may need to apply before the eye test but there's ways around that.
