Women wanting repect

Why are Irish women so adamant for respect to be shown to women (which I totally agree with) But will not show (generally) any respect to Irish men. Surely the ethical thing to do is practice what you preach? I refuse to treat anybody of any gender with disrepect no matter how annoying or ignorant they may be...
