    englands is at 4m , wales are about to introduce one. what are the likes of munster and leinster spending on their yearly wage bill?

    Its hard to tell due to the central contracts that the IRFU pick up the bill for (although all four provinces contribute back to the IRFU with prize money and HC gate receipts.)

    The Welsh one is 3.5million but as far as I know only players registered for European football are in this. Academy and development players are not counted in this cap.

    they get a bit of help from the tax rebate thing if a player stays in ireland for 10 years which is part of the reason why someone like o'driscoll wouldnt go off to france for two years on the gravy train
