    Hi Guys..

I'm looking to replace the Crankcase Breather on My 02 Octavia(ALH)1.9TDi..

I have a diagram here..But I think this is the vRS engine...

Either way,,would anyone know the part number for the Breather?? And any idea of a price.. I think it's number 18 on the pic...

The TDI engine doesn't have a breather on the front of the block like the petrol one does. What problems are you having with the engine?

If I was to drive the car a bit hard,it pushes a bit of oil up through the EGR.
Discussing it with My mechanic,,he thought as first it may have been the Turbo itself, letting some oil past the seal.
But over xmas,,he was discussing with another mechanic,,and the 2nd guy said he had a few problem cars like that before, and that breather thing was the problem..It gets a bit choked up,,so restricts the Turbo,,and also setting off Limp Mode, which My car is getting.
I used to drive it hard on and off before, and it lost a bit of oil to the point the oil light (Low level) came on before xmas....
I topped it up,,and have been driving like a grandad, and the oil level hasn't moved since.
But,,if I did put My foot down,,the Turbo does kick in as normal...Except going up hills, where it'll set off the Limp Mode.
