You need to speak with the Job Facilitator in your local office. Funding would not be automatic, and you would need to discuss how this course would help your future employment prospects.

Reckon it will involve a lot of letter writing?

It depends. I took a "train the trainer" course which wasn't provided by FAS, and got the LES (Local Employment Services) paid for it (e400). It took literally two meetings with my facilitator to convince him this will help me on the job market (no letters whatsoever). He said they have some funding for such things.
