Seriously how did he get away with it for over 10 years

Their gig from Croke park is on TV3 at the moment and as I'm cooking dinner I left it on. My God he's shocking.

Am I wrong or is he a suffering crow

I disagree. He has an amazing talent. Heard him perform for an old school concert before they even thought of west life. He's destined for the west end in my opinion. One of the strongest voices I've heard which can carry across a room.

Quite possible he was just having an off day at the gig. It's been known to happen to artists.

Did not see that clip so won't comment on that performace, but from what I have seen when he sings live, that guy can certainly hold a note. I would rate him a very good singer.

BTW, why is he a 'douchbag?'

I have no idea why I wrote that....it's removed now. I still don't think he can sing well. It's just my opinion

And you are entitled to that opinion. I disagree with it, and think he is a good singer, but isn't that what makes music and vocals so individual for some people?

So, not sure why you posted in the "confused" look face.

Are you really that shocked? Westlife came from the same generation and indeed the same Management as Boyzone, half of which couldn't hold a note to save their lives..

They are also from the same era as the likes of The Spicegirls.. Yes, things are different now and half of the band probably wouldn't get a foot in the door these days.. but back then it was different.. I think looks and charisma went a long way towards getting record deals back then.

    I don't get your point.

Ronan Keating can hold a note, can sing.

Mark and Shane can hold notes, both are very good singers.

The thread is saying that Mark cannot sing. That to me is off the mark. He may have had a bad night, but he can sing. Sure can!

As for Duffy and Nicky and Kian and Lynchy and Mikey; none of these guys to me can sing.

My point is.. if it where a case that any of them aren't exactly Sopranos.. it's hardly surprising considering the era which they came from..
Ronan Keating can hold a note, can sing.

Ronan is a grand singer yes, Stephen and even Mikey could hold their own but Keith and Shane can't sing.. have you ever watched any of their old 'live in concert' videos/dvds?

I was a staunch Boyzone fan as a kid and I had a lot of their tapes.. and tbh, the live vocals left a lot to be desired IMHO.. They were great for what they were.. but you have to admit that there is no comparison to the sort of talent that's around today..

When he's good he's good, but when he's bad (and I've heard him sing badly) he's really bad... It's because he tries to add all sorts of little enhancements, so it either sounds great or awful..
