Crud Guards

Got a second hand bike to use for the winter but when I went to put the trusty Crud Guards on I found there wasn't enough space between brake and tyre.
Anyone any ideas to get round this? Or do I need to get a different type? Or do without?
I appreciate it might be a difficult one to answer but every little helps...

If the bike is fitted with large-ish tyres (25mm or bigger) you could try fitting narrower/shallower tyres and that might give you clearance.

Or SKS Race Blades may be an option as they don't go under the brake caliper, but they don't give as much protection from water either though unfortunately.

I presume your talking about the crud roadracer (just fitted a set the other day).

I wont embed incase its not the issue, its a demo video where a mod is needed to get around a clearance issue. (About 7 min in)

You could try the new Raceblade Long, just released, available here for €48 delivered.

Thanks for all the above folks.

I took the hacksaw to them this afternoon and hopefully that has done the trick. There's still minimal rub but I haven't had a spin on it yet
