Rough cost of a boiler service in Dublin?

I need to get my non-condensing gas boiler (5-years old, not previously serviced) serviced. Roughly how much should this cost in Dublin?

I also have a leak somewhere in the closed central heating system - I have to top up pressure every day for the past few days but can't identify where the leak is coming from. I know that's probably a harder one to assess the cost of - should it primarily be the cost of time for working on that?

If its a sealed system your safety valve may be dripping or expansion vessel need to be inflated or else it's burst

May need a powerflush :D. Sorry Frank little joke there.

I would imagine any RGI will not have the leak down as part of a routine boiler service so expect your quote to be for a service only, investigating a leak could be a 5 minute job or days of work.

€65 plus parts, but not in your area.

How long is a piece of string? I charge €##:D a mate of mine charges €75 and another mate charges €110. So shop around.

As previously stated the leak could take 5 mins to locate or day's. Check all visible pipe work your self first off.

Are these RGI allowed charge what they want?
I got 6 different prices to change a part

90,140,170,185 is some of the prices quoted for the same thing all from people on the RGI website

    sorry to takeover your thread

I need to get my boiler serviced at the moment too and found this deal. I wondered was it really good value but from what people are saying here it is well priced. Has anyone found cheaper? I will probably just try this guy I think, can't go far wrong with that price

    It's a race to the bottom:eek:

A €40 RGI needs to pay the bills like the rest of us, I'm surprised people havn't figured out how they make their wages up, I'm not going to bitch about it anymore, its what the public want, so good luck to them;) I can't afford to charge €40.

Think we are all fed up bitching over this.

From what I have seen, for €40, you'd be better off not getting it serviced as
the seals aren't even checked once the cover is put back on as the hoover is put away!

I actually tested out my theory in my own house (with oil) when I got a flyer for a €35 boiler service,
guy arrived on time, pulled out my burner, stuck a hoover in the combustion chamber, put burner back on
it's mounting and then asked to be payed!

I listed off everything else I would have expected to be checked/changed/tested to service my appliance
and he just left in a huff! (unpaid) doesn't even look at me when we rub shoulders in the suppliers (assume he goes there to buy hoover bags!)
