Having great trouble locating a Driver

Not really sure if this is the correct place to post this but...

I am a bit stuck here. I need a driver for a webcam, it's a HP KQ245AA but uses the same driver as the KQ246AA and is marketed as the HP Deluxe Webcam.

I have searched all over the internet and I cannot find it. I have searched torrent sites, driver sites and the HP site which will only allow you to order a cd. The problem with the cd option is that it isn't for me, it is for someone that I am helping and they don't have a cd drive in their computer.

If anyone has any help or tips on where I might be able to find the driver, I would be eager to hear...

    Thanks

ps. I need the Windows XP driver

Contact HP and request it, looking on their site they only have an option to purchase the driver software disc! Absolute bull, drop them and email and see how you get on. If you get access to a CD you can copy the driver seup onto a USB key but still don't pay for something that should be provided!

From threads I have seen online, they won't help anyone in that line. All they do is keep pushing people to get the disc which unfortunately I may have to do but that will make everything much more complicated...

That's a bit of a scam website. It gives you a zip file that looks promising but all it has is an executable file to download a piece of software called Driver Detective which is a scam piece of software that doesn't work...

I've removed links to that particular site as it is a scam, I would email HP and see what they say, I'm quite suprised and shocked if they'd be allowed get away with selling the disc with drivers and not providing alternatives, from Googling it does not appear to be an old webcam and to not support it at all is fairly shocking, my guess is that the Webcam may have come with licensed software, but the actual driver at least should be available to download

I didn't try the site I linked, it was just a google result. I did use Driver Identifier with success though.

Don't worry about it, I removed the link as I suspected it may be one of those rogue spyware apps from OPs reply, I've had a good look around and it looks like OPs best bet is to contact HP demanding the driver, seems a bit ridiculous a company like HP wouldn't have a driver up but there must be a reason!

Two links I regularly use are:

Device Doctor (Not a scam but a handy little app).

    and

    pcidatabase.

In the Device Manager just right click on the item you need the driver for and go to properties. In the Details tab there should be a string of numbers and letters.

One is DEV followed by a four digit number and the other is VEN. This is the developer and vendor codes. You just put them in to pcidatabase and it'll bring you to a results page (hopefully) with links to the driver.
