Can anyone suggest a good family holiday, I have a 9 yr old girl, a 5 yr old boy & a 8 month old ( well he will be in the summer). It can either be in Ireland or abroad. Thanks.

I've always found campsites in France to be great with small kids

Bring the car so you can pack it with everything you need, the weather is good but not too hot

    West coast is best

We have found Spain to be a great spot. We usually get a self catering appt,a rental car.saw the area, kids loved it and at night time could sit on balcony have a couple of drinks and kids were safely tucked up in bed. Not that expensive,we brought our sat nav and got around no problem. Our youngest turned one while there oldest was 6,plenty to do and see.

    Hi MegaMonsterBoy
Can you send me more detail of where ye went in France (on the west coast)?
Kids are 2 & 5 - what would you recommend? Did you ferry from Ireland or England?
Also - I am on a budget so probably the cheaper the better. Are there still good options in that part of the world.Roughly what prices should I expect to pay?
    Thanks

If you are interested in France take a look at Keycamp.ie or keycamp.co.uk. Even if you do not use them it will give you an idea of facilities and prices etc.

On a budget, I would recommend St Jean de Mont.

It's about half way down on the west coast and has everything, the only downside is the weather isn't always guarenteed

I usually go further down to get the better weather http://www.levieuxport.com/

I've always gone with Irish ferries from Roslare, cost about €900 at the moment including a cabin, Cherbourge has the best shopping (Wine) and easiest to drive out of and onto the motorway network, Roscoff is an old fishing willage with warehouses selling wine

Going through the UK requires an overnight somewhere so I've never attempted it, I couldn't force the kids to endure 2 days in the car

If you send me a PM with your email address, I can send you more information if you like
