what do you think of this, been talking to a girl who is slightly deaf (like myself) I know she used to live in Dublin to cut a long story short she moved to USA, she says she's living in NY and she has money she inheritance from her mother but can't touch it till she's married, when she moved to the states with her bf she told me he was after her money as he wanted to get married quick and she copped on and said no so he dumped her, she's staying with friends, cue to me, I was talking to her on facebook and (seen her pic so I know her from school days) she says she's in love with me after 6/8 emails and wants to move back to Dublin to be with me, she's keeps e-mailing me saying she can't wait till she gets here and does poems etc.. I said why don't you take some money from your inheritance and get over she said her lawyer said she can't touch it (she's 38) till she gets married, now I said give me a price of how much it would cost to get flight over here,
I'm still suspicious about this anyway she e-mailed me "i will email to you the KLM ticket confirmation details okay i have book the ticket and is $1450" now I've been onto the KLM web site and was able to book flight for less (around $700) so don't know where she's getting the $1,450 from also she said she's from NY and yet when I looked up her IP it said LA?

She seems to trust me and for all she knows I could be a rapist etc.. I've talked to her and saying I like to get to know her etc.. being nice chap she's the one pushing to meet by saying I love you, I would like to marry you some stage etc..

am I right to be suspicious? don't get me wrong she's sounds nice and is from Dublin etc. . but think she's desperate to get home and will try anything

I said I would pay for ticket (was expecting to be not cheap that's why I was chancing my arm to see what she would reply as) she deleted FB after getting to chat to me (she was complaining she can't chat as we're far away) I was thinking u deleted FB ya could have chatted on that

This sounds very dubious - if she was under 18 or 21, I could well understand a clause where she couldn't touch the money until she gets to 18/21 but she's 38. If it's true, I would imagine that she could easily get this reversed in court.

Based on this it looks to me like a scam. Asking you to wire or transfer money is another red flag.

Also she lives in NY where rent is insane, (even though her IP says LA) also she can call her lawyer, but can't afford a flight ticket for $700, not even on a credit card ? And no one has a inheritance clause thats stops a 38 year old getting money until she gets married.

I know you might be hoping theres something in this but step back and analyse it and read your own post.

Its a 100% screaming out loud scam.

And she deleted her facebook to stop you seeing stuff that will give the game away

Agree. Complete scam. Totally dubious reason on the inheritance. What if she was homosexual, or did not want to marry for personal or religious reasons? Find it totally beyond belief that an inheritance would be left to someone on basis that they get married. If that was the truth then could she not have paid someone to marry her years ago to claim the inheritance.

Either total scam or the girl is insane. Proceed at your own risk either way.

Go with your gut OP - if it's raising red flags then run a mile...it sounds well dodgy to me.
