Driving test cancelled due to weather

I was due to have my driving test this morning in Navan, but after waiting in the test centre for a few minutes, myself and the other people due to be tested this morning at around the same time were called in and told that our tests would be cancelled because of fog and ice on the routes. The tester who told me about the cancellation was very nice about the whole situation, and said he understood how it might be a bit frustrating for me. He told me that it shouldn't be too long before I am given a new date for my test. I was just wondering if this has happened to anybody here before, and if so, how long were you waiting until you got a new date? And do they place you on the cancellation list so you might get a test sooner on short notice?

It happens often enough during the winter. You generally get put on the cancelation shortlist. So be ready for a phone call checking if you want your test at a weeks notice. The waiting times vary alot for this. You could get that call next week or next month. If you are really eager, give them a call next week.

The only tests which went ahead in Navan today were the 1350 and the 1440. I had a pupil out in the 1350 luckily. It hardly lifted all day!

I was talking to an instructor earlier who said his pupil had his test cancelled this morning. The pupil rang up straight away and was given a new test time from this coming Tuesday. Give them a call and you might be lucky.

    Best of luck
