    Hey all,

Was out on the bike today, and my speedo stated acting crazy, was telling me i was going 199km/hr and was giving similar readings for a few minutes, but fixed itself...

Does anyone have an idea what may have caused this? Its not a cheap speedo, in fact my argos speedo has only ever given me trouble once, and this new one starts to fault on its second day

I did the ring of Kerry at about 200kph a couple of years ago, it lashed down at the start, which I think is what did it. The computer never recovered, it was a wireless BBB one, don't think I'll ever go with anything other than Garmin again, not cheap but if you're doing the miles then it's worth it.

The one I have is a bbb I think, but my argos one seems the best...and it only cost 10 euro, and the bbb cost 41...

So are you saying the rain caused my problem?

    Also its wired, not wireless...

Could be what others have suggested or

1: Maybe the gap between the sensor and the magnet is wrong and it's missing some revs, although this would cause under-readiings.

2: The wheel size is incorrectly set, although this would result in constantly incorrect readings.

3: Damage to the wire connecting the sensor to the console.

4: You've got two magnets on the wheel....

I have the the speedo set properly, I have even reset the speedo just to make sure, so the speedo is set up correctly and the wiring seems in perfect condition, and there is only one magnet on the wheel.

Well I had eaten quiet a sizeable portion of porridge :D

Did you turn on a light mounted near the speedo?
