skoda vw gearbox probs

    Do these 5 speed gearbox give a lot of problems ? I have a skoda octavia 1.9tdi slipping out of 5th gear and looking for 2nd gearbox at breakers but have no luck

    Are you checking for gearboxes across the VAG range ?
    Did you give traynors a shout ?

    Got price from local breaker €500 is that usual price or is he taking the p s car not worth much 4 times that at best ?
