If you can find one, an S40 or V50 T5 would be rapid enough.

My brother has a CL7 Euro R that used to look completely stock before he bastardized it with a spoiler. Very nice cars.

95 Hot aero wins big time though!

    Audi S and RS models

I'd rule out BMW and Audi from the sheep look though. Looking for something unassuming. (but that would knock the boll0x out of most 'wolves')

    Having said that

Wouldnt consider any of them wolves in sheeps clothing being honest.

The older M series bmws would top my list.

E36 M3 evo (minus the badge on the back)
E34 and E39 M5 (ditto on the badges)

Which was a fine car but certainly not a standard looking saloon like the OP specified.

Was there a Bora and Passat vr6?

I saw a Passat 4-motion in Spain last week. I noticed the double exhausts on it first, then saw the badge. I never saw one here, though.

How about a Vauxhall VXR8? (or does it look too much like a wolf to begin with?)

There was a Passat W8. I'd say that had some grunt. I used to see several of them close to Belfast's Castlereagh Police station. I presume they were unmarked cop cars.

Saab 9-5 3.0t saloon on std 16" rims...and no, not a Griffin/Aero/etc.........would pass you by without you even noticing. Super Sleepy.

My gold Peugeot 106 GTI looks like the tackiest, most bling-iest, kn@ckertastic, single mother-mobile that a person could drive. Remember being laughed at by some scobe in a Passat TDI at some lights nearly a year ago. Destroyed him fairly handily.

Brilliant thing about the GTI is that other than a tiny sticker on the side, you'd never even know what it was capable of :pac:

Out of interest, when did I suggest a ZT as a wolf in sheeps clothing? :)
    It's far from fast really.

I did indeed have one,the best car i've ever owned - a real wolf in sheeps clothing 272bhp from a VW Boring :D

I now drive a V6 TDI A4 quattro avant which is actually boring :D - no confusion really,a 2.8 V6 supercharged 4wd petrol guzzler was getting a bit too much in uncertain economic times,i will be back in another forced induction V6 vag car one day that will be the 'big bad wolf' in sheeps clothing! :D:D

Hmmm I see your point, but I reckon any estate audi RS debadged is pretty wolverine and appears sheepish, no ?
Also, debadged and remapped Audi S3 quattro if you could find one ? (Edit: tunable to high 200's BHP I believe)

I was going to suggest the same! I can't think of any better Wolf than a 500E W124 ;).
The thing about this car is... it is a real sleeper and looks very much the same as an ordinary 200D. No badges all over the place like in any other tuned-up model, just plain and simple. And the way it goes :).

Absolutely. 9-5 HOT Aero. Demon. or a tuned Xantia Activa mark II. Or a Peugeot 406 Turbo. Same engine. Very cheap, very old. Very Sheep. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/index.php/topic/6085-my-xantia-activa-tct/

Or the V6 Xantia Activa. http://youtu.be/LG0eJY_1470

Any de badged S or RS Audi is a wolf in sheeps clothing in this country as no one knows what the are, sure most people think Badged up diesel versions are the real deal.

For the true wolf in sheeps clothing though you have to go down the engine conversion route, say a mk1 golf with a 16v and turbo in it.

Why reply three times? And report it saying the same thing?

I think a 250 brake Passat is a bit of a wolf, not what would be expected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,340 ✭✭✭mullingar

    A Toyota Aristo.

Its a Jap import 98-05 Lexus GS300 but with the same engine as a Toyota Supra 3.0 turbo.

Those 2JZ-gte engines are 300hp standard and easily tuned to 400hp+ for relatively small money.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 499 ✭✭heate

W8 - 275bhp quick in gear, gearbox was spaced to increase top speed and economy not 0-60 times.
How about a 2.8 twin turbo Insignia or the new Volvo S60 T6 325bhp and looks like a sporty S60 (an r-design one or some such)
Phaeton to most is just another VW - a V10 TDI or a W12 would qualify
