    How many blinds/windows??

I got 14 wooden blinds supplied and fitted for 830 euro. That was the cheapest I could get them for, after having around 8 different companies call to my house and quote me.

That price was for 50mm "wide slat" oak blinds.

You can also get lower quality blinds than that. I've seen dear and cheap blinds on neighbouring houses, after a year or 2 you can realy see the difference, the cheaper blinds are warped, cracked and blistered from the sun.

Next thing on the list is to fit the curtain poles and curtains.

I'm looking to get rid of all my wooden blinds and get white venetian blinds.

If you're in Dublin, could you PM me where you got your blinds fitted please Paddy? :)

And if you have kids they seem to love pulling on them and snapping them in half ..... maybe its just my kids tho. The ones on the french doors get it all the time - no longer wooden blinds mainly glued blinds !!

No child safety devices? These are now a legal requirment. Also they look to be faded already, perhaps its just the sun shining through.

They are not faded at all, they are slightly open and the sun is belting in too (south facing window and window frame shadow). Also some dust in the air from the last of the carpentry and painting work the night before, and the next day (same day the blinds were installed).

The blinds are Luxaflex 50mm wooden oak blinds (a high end quality of blind).

I got very good deal on 14 of them.
But that good deal doesnt mean that they are of inferior quality. There is still such a thing as getting a bargain or a good deal,in this day and age.

Afaik...I think the child safety device are used for contineous bead cords (like you get on roller blinds).

    Regards.

They're not that hard to fit. The awkward part i found was removing excess slats but that wasn't really that bad either.

What sort of fittinsg would you use to attach the blinds so they wont fall down? Bracket on to the actual window frame?

The blinds will come with their own specific clamping brackets....(1 for each side of the window frame/reveal)

2 yellow Thorsman plugs and screws to hold on the bracket, and then the blind clamps onto the bracket.

Makes for quick and easy removal of blind, when you need to clean down the windows or repaint the walls/window reveals.
