print type for mount-less framing

    does anyone know what type of print is used when photos are framed without a mount ( mat ) ie Giles Norman type prints??

    its a cheap way of doing it, prints will be screwed very quickly if they sit against the glass

    you can dry mount them and then use a rabbet space to space away from the glass and that works

    but the fine art trade guild standards say dont put the print against the glass

    I know that the best route is a full dry mount mat and conservation mat card and paper etc, but my sister has a giles norman that she got for her 21st, which is a looong time ago, and it is perfect.... he still seems to print the same way, with a "mat" printed onto the photo itslef... just wondering does he use special paper or what, as I've never seen one stuck to the glass....

    is the print right up against the glass
    is it even glass, if it was acrylic would be different story
    wonder if the print is laminated

    definitely glass ( cause I broke one!!)
