Was anyone at Balbriggan when their train broke down this morning? I understood that the delays were up to 40 minutes long.

The train involved only had six carriages, I'd suppose there were a lot of people delayed.

Does anyone know where that train was heading to?

If it was at Balbriggan, well definitely there are no DART's going there, so, it would be commuter or enterprise services delayed.

It was pure chaos, some local farmer tried to move his cows along the lines between services!

Is that same local farmer live near Skerries or in it? The commuter and enterprise services were only going from Drogheda to Skerries as I recall.

If it was 6 carriages then it can only have been a 6x piece 2800 (3x sets). I think the 06:47 ex Drogheda-Pearse does be formed of 2800s.

A DART also failed at Portmarnock this morning with "door interlock " problems, passengers detrained and the set went off empty. Passengers put onto the following 09:00 ex Malahide.

A DART also failed at Portmarnock this morning with "door interlock "

It means that the driver didn't get the warning light to go either on or off in his cab to show that all the doors on the set were closed properly. Kind of like your door-closed light on your car dashboard.

"Door interlock" is the drivers manual term for it AFAIK. If you don't get it, you can't/shouldn't move the train.
