Doing some research myself and this one is in the mix.

It seems to me that any Smart TV is going to be a compromise (No netflix, No RTE player) so I'm thinking of saving even more and getting the D5000 (use it with a WDTV box for Smart TV)

Do like the DLNA features and everything I've seen on picture quality is very positive

    Did you take the plunge?

i just bought the U46c6540 (699) if the smart tv stuff is what your after there only samsung apps, so unless someone builds an app for it it doesnt show up (as far as i can tell) no browser either, you tube works and there is an ilovefilm app

Huge telly though (just gone up from a 25" CRT  )

also the one i got doesnt have a wireless connection (unless you buy an expensive samsung wireless adapter and use up a usb port although an edimax one may work)

i didnt buy it for the smartness but i think its actually disappointing (this may be better on newer models))

oh yeh its got twitter skype facebook etc but i'd be more interested in being able to surf and use rte player and eurosport player on it
