    Some tantalising details:

It would appear that the expense is the problem...which means it may never happen. It'd do crazy well if it were good though!

I have to say it sounds brilliant. Even Lucas surely can't mess this one up!

I was just thinking about why I didn't like the prequels but enjoy the Clone Wars animated series and it finally dawned on it it was precisely because it wasn't live action. I think an animated show comes with lower expectations and delivers the goods in small bitesized chunks without any need for "acting" or much exposition.

Like I said acting isn't an issue. Anakin is just as wooden in Clone Wars TAS as he is in the prequels but it suddenly doesn't matter because the show can't (and isn't trying to ) engage you on anything more than a visceral level. In fact if you watch the prequels with these lowered standards they suddenly become almost watchable!

As such I personally don't feel that a live action Star Wars show will be any good if it is held within the confines of the prequel movie production method (which I imagine it will be).
