With sky years, Last May my sky+ box went faulty, Rang Sky and the lady said she would organise to send a repair man out with a new sky+ hd box.

Now I want to leave sky and i'm told i have to honour my 12 month contract.

    1. I never signed a contract.
    2. I only rang sky to get my old box fixed and the lady suggested a new sky hd box as a replacement with NO extra chanrge (so I jumped on that).

I'm with sky since the 90s, paid them thousands, and now this ****

I would ask for a copy of that call as it should be recorded she should have told you that you were sigining up for another year when you upgraded to the HD box

Did the op get the HD channels with the new HD box? If so that automatically ties you into a 12 month contract,it's in their T&C's.Customer services should have explained this though.
UPC employ similar tactics but are much worse at it where even a simple change to a package with them can tie you into a new contract.
