Ideal size of phone / screen

So do people like new gigantic phones with massive screens?

I'm still rockin the Hero, be looking for a new phone in the next while but for example think the Galaxy Nexus is too big of a phone. I like the size of the Hero, prob cause what I'm used to, but ideally for me I'd like the phone that size but just make the screen on it bigger.

I think you should be able to use all the phone with your thumb while in your hand. Then again, maybe I'm just suffering from having very short fingers!

Just wondering am I the only one hoping for a new top end phone but without the 4+ inch screens?

I have an xperia play which has a 4" screen and I think it's a great size. It fits me perfectly. I can use a Galaxy S 2 (4.3" I believe) but it isn't as comfortable as the 4" screen but I would still be happy with it. I wouldn't go bigger than the S2 though.

I went from Hero to GS2, and it took about 2 days to get used to the size, because it's so much slimmer, it's actually much new comfortable to have in your pocket. I can reach everywhere except the top left corner of the screen with my thumb and that isn't really an issue for me tbh

Similary I went from Hero to 4.3" screen, LG Optimus 3D, and I'm loving the change.
When my bro in law bought HD2 I thought the screen its too big, but it is perfect size.

But I wouldn't got with yoke like Galaxy Note.

Desire HD is bang on for me. Really came into it's own over Christmas holidays when I used it as a sat nav too.

SGS2 was my first smartphone. (All older phones were standard Nokia)
Screen size was a big concern, but after 2-3 days there's no going back.

Hero was a bit small for me. Desire HD is perfect and I wouldn't want a bigger screen than that.

Once you get used to looking at the screen on the Galaxy Nexus you will wonder why you didn't get a phone with a bigger screen ages ago, and anything else will seem too small in comparison.

I went from a HTC Desire 3.7" to the Galaxy Nexus 4.65"

i always said i thing the desire is the perfect size for, i can touch every part of the screen with ease and generally loved the phone,

Then i found out about the Galaxy Nexus and fell in love with it. I bought it sim free without ever using it(a risk for me) and my first reaction to using it was of fu-ck what have i done, It felt huge

But after a couple of Days i seemed to adapt to it quite nicely (you have to remember the home, back and menu buttons are on the screen) so it feels more slightly smaller though you benefit from that huge screen in videos

My ideal size is around the 4.5 mark ( gone up from 3.7") its also the reason i'll never get an iPhone
