Hi We are just going decortaing our house and i am trying to decide between curtains or blinds.

I have a very small space between my windows its only 18.5 inches and i have two windows in most rooms. Most windows are 36.5 inches in width. Sitting room are a good bit bigger they are 57 inches in width. I am just wondering if i was to go with curtains would people recomend putting one set of curtains in these rooms or having two. Also do people think to the floor is nicer or not . I dont think there is enough space for two sets of curtains things might look a bit cramped but if i only go with one will it look a bit funny. that is why blinds might be a better option.

i also have double doors in my kitchen that have a window stuck on to them at either side this measure 4.1 meter in total. Any suggestion of what i could do with this.

    Any advise appreciated.

I think you could make both work. It depends on what look you prefer. Some blind styles can look very clinical but if you'd like the softness of curtains but with less fuss a fabric roman blind is a good compromise.

Personally i prefer curtains that go to the floor. Ones that stop at cill height just look unfinished to me. And if you have enough wall to the left of your left-most window and enough wall to the right of your right-most window I'd be inclined to use one set of curtains on the two windows and i don't think it would look strange.

When you say double doors to your kitchen. Do you mean external doors to the garden? Or internal doors between rooms. If they're external doors I'd be inclined to put an individual blind on each of the doors and on the attached windows.

    Hope that helps.

yes they are external door and windows. So a blind would probably look best there. My colour scheme will either be mocha colour or green in this room as i have walnut kitchen, cream tiles and cream granite so maybe a biscuit colour blind would look nice. Got a price today of 1100 for blinds throughout the house. Now this was just for roller blinds but seems quiet reasonable. in the kitchen dinning area i have the double doors in the middle with the windows attached at each side and the kitchen window at one end of the room and two other windows at the other end of the room. if i was going with blind on the kitchen window and the double doors area would you be inclined to put a blind on the other two windows or would curtains look nicer there do you think. Thanks for your opinions

    Who gave you that price??

I got a house fitted out with 50mm oak wooden slat blinds for 830 euro all in,including fitting (14 blinds in total).
