Deeds stolen where do we stand?

A bag of deeds were stolen in a robbery in my inlaws house, our house included. We know we have to go get a copy of our in Dublin, haven`t gotten around to it yet. Our inlaws aren`t bothered and don`t see anything to worry about they haven`t even got a copy of the police report. Is there a future issue possible? It seems…

A bag of deeds were stolen in a robbery in my inlaws house, our house included. We know we have to go get a copy of our in Dublin, haven`t gotten around to it yet. Our inlaws aren`t bothered and don`t see anything to worry about they haven`t even got a copy of the police report.

Is there a future issue possible? It seems like the deeds were actually what they were looking for but why is the question, what good are they to someone?
