I've read on another post that certain slopes in soll are not suitable for boarders due to lots of flat areas. Can anyone recommend certain areas where we can avoid this but keep 7 intermediate boarders and skiers happy? What about après ski or places for later on in the evening(4 singles in the group!)?

Stay away from blue home run. Red one is fine. Also stay away from the long blue that's at the top of the lift that is to the left as you come out at middle station. Other than that most other runs are grand as far as I can remember.

Stay away from blues full stop. Go over the top to hochbrixen, brixen and westendorf and there are very few long flat runs to worry about. Generally conditions here will be the worst though...

Why so? Too easy? Bit late now, we're heading out there on the 4th of feb. I've heard from work colleagues that it's fine.......?!

I have been to Soll twice and I would say you will be fine. There is not much for beginners in Soll, I think it's more geared towards intermediates. There are more reds than blues. The area of Soll itself is small but you are linked to the whole SkiWelt so head to some of the other areas too for a bit of variety (Brixen, Hopfgarden, Westendorf etc). The red home run back to Soll can get very very busy in the evenings. I wasn't of a level to ski it so I used to get the cable lift down.

Enjoy the Salvenstadl. The apres ski there is great craic.

Edit: Whiskey Muhler is the coppers of Soll!

Another Edit: Looked at the pistemap and blue marked as 30/31 and 40 from the skiwelt website is very flat in parts so boarders might want to avoid this.

When I was there there was a number on the back of the ski pass which you could enter online and get your stats for the day, number and name of lifts and also downhill distance skied. If you have phone apps linked to GPS they would be more accurate.

    Soll's fine and cruisey.
Good spot for relaxing and the night skiing i found to be good quality.

Plenty fun to be had over in Hopfgarten and high on the Hohe Salve. If you're looking for challenging terrain you're pushing it a bit, but a great spot for a relaxing week.

I didn't find the "flat spots" in Soll to be very significant. There were only a few spots overall where I had to "tiptoe". Just keep the speed up and you'll get through most slopes. Snowboarding, just stay up high and off the blues. Same as anywhere.

The Ski Welt website publishes a truly fantastic Google Earth map of the pistes: www.skiwelt.at/map/skiwelt-google-earth.kml . I'm not sure how you get contours on Google Earth but if you see a long narrow section on a blue/red, then there's a good chance it's flat.

Overall the slopes aren't the most interesting imo. I recommend getting the Kitsbuhel All Star card and taking in a day or two in the Kitsbuhel/Kirchberg region if you can; I thought the slopes there were a lot more interesting.
