Hadnt run the car in a couple of weeks as its off the road for winter.
I was planning to take the battery out and leave it on trickle charge but with Christmas and all that, it didn't happen.
I went to get something from the car today and the central locking won't work etc, car is completely dead.
If I jump it and drive around for an hour or two will tat recover the battery or should I take it out and charge or should I just forget it and buy a new battery when it goes back on the road to avoid the same thing happening again?

Edit...Is trickle charge necessary, or should it be ok if I just disconnect or store?

The battery may need to be taken out rather than jump start as it has no power fully charge it put it in start your car every three or four days and run for a few minutes this is what I would do but I am not a mechanic

I would take it out and charge it before you need the car. If it goes flat again buy a new one

Charge the battery, then take to your local motor factor for a load test, this will show if it needs replacing
