khaz, no sorry. its already booked.

Orizio, I'm very open to suggestions on map pools, but since it usually starts a spree of abuse, I think ill just take the best TL tournament map pool i can find.

Sinister, prize pool is as follows
*note, this depends 100% on attendance from those who said they will go, and as such, is open to change*

    1v1 tournament
    first place: €150
    second place: €70
    third place: €35
    fourth place: €15

    4v4 monobattle tournament:
    €20 per player

    Thanks.

    EDIT: 55 people @ TL http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=304080#1

EDIT2: I'm moving into my new apartment tomorrow. When I can I'll test my internet and see if I can cast. If I can I'll be casting as much as the event as I possibly can and I'll be inviting people to the Skype conversation. If I can cast it I'll be forwarding my Skype name so people who are interested in the Skype banter can add me.

Bad idea to have more than 6 maps in a map pool. It is hard to prepare for 9 maps.

Well I have judo competition on the same day in Belfast. It is in the morning, so I think I can still make it to the LAN if I wont be too tired (or injured). So:

Oh god, i gotta go back into the venue and ask him how many connections he has. There is no wireless so we all gotta connect through the ethernet.

I can actually play sc2 relatively lag-free by tethering with my phone. Just an idea to relieve the stress on their connection

They always do that on Wed mornings, it's never been a Sat!

If it is, then I guess everything is the same but the game is Brood War

Could we bring our own WiFi router? You can plug that into one of the Ethernet ports and bam. WiFi.

54 is a very decent figure. Even if only 70% make it on the night (thing shappen in RL to upset your plans) the turnout is impressive. This has me wondering how viable it would be to try to organise a Barcraft event. Would a bar in town be willing to host an event if they were guaranteed 40+ attendees?

Am hoping to attend a Barcraft event next month in NYC, (depends on work schedule) will be interesting to see how many are there

40+ guaranteed numbers is very tempting for a bar. on top of their usual numbers for the night.

I'm in the cafe now, all the pc's are occupied and i'm having connection issues with Sc2, people may be downloading stuff on the other comps, but some guy is Playing LoL behind me with little or no latency. Latency is 70ms on his comp.

But i think we'll have to enforce a rule on the night so that people can not use the connection to download crap or watch you tube clips etc. later on into the night, we'll not bother with enforcing it, but at the start we want to get through as many games as possible.

I'll ask the Grand Social about hosting a barcraft event in the near future.

Ive been in contact with Blizzard, and they have whitelisted the IP address of the cafe for the event.

Blizzard have also given me a contact phone number in case anything goes wrong on the night.

That sounds like a bit of decent customer service there.

After attempting streaming today there is definitely no way I can cast the event, unfortunately. Hope everyone has a great time. I'll keep updating the TL thread as I receive more new information.

Well, if we find a host here in ireland to stream, you could just observe the game and talk through skype on his/her pc, e-z p-z.

I can host a stream on my pc from the event if bandwith allows for it, if you're still interested?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

For sure, the more the merrier!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,824 ✭✭✭RoyalMarine

not sure on hosting a stream from the event, it 100% depends what the latency is like on the night. if everything goes well, sure we can go ahead with it, but if its laggy, we might have to just restrict everyone to playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 Adeanlol

Latency is usually better at night, when it comes to congestion that is, best just make a post on here looking for a caster, maybe even try get a big name involved as weird as that may sound and as impossible as it may be, D0gma could do it? Seen some posts saying he streams, then again he could be coming as ive not really checked the name list.

Will I be the only grand master attending?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 135 ✭✭freepower

I think there's a few high masters, I'm not aware of any other GMs. :)

You won't be attending at all if you don't add yourself to the list.
