+1. that 3 am shut down used to piss me off so much that if I didn't watch porn I'd shut it down. :D

Should this thread not be in the retro/nostalgia forum?

    What do you mean?
That boards was unavailable after 3am?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,800 ✭✭✭Senna

The amount of times i'd write out a reply to something and when i hit reply it would have shut-down already. Pissed me off greatly, but it was a gentle reminder to go to bed. Judging by tonight i need someone to tell me to go to bed.

It would do a back up or something and would be offline for either 10 minutes or half hour, I can't remember. But it sucked donkey dick.

You could have PMed her, it wouldn't be the first time someone arranged a hookup over boards.

Oh, I miss the ol' "get the last post before it goes down and the first post before it comes back up" game.

The single most pointless-but-entertaining thing to do at 3am in the morning.

Saw the thread title and came in to say that!

Think it was 3 originally, then it was decided to extend to 4 cause there was still a fair few people online around 3!

    I don't remember this at all! :O

Vodafone broadband is ****e like. I had to get rid of it because the quality was dismal. Don't just walk away, run away as fast as you can. Rubbish.

At least to begin with, I think the 4 am shutdown happened over summertime, when the clocks had gone forward but whoever scheduled the downtime didn't bother to change it.

    How quiant!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

Huh, never knew that happened. Might be a good idea if they introduced that. Then we can all go to bed at a reasonable hour and not feel like having lost so much sleep the next day.

Sorry tad bit grumpy due to lack of sleep and a hard day.:(

Shall we ask for a "I Fuckin' Hate Vodafone Broadband With A Vengeance" forum, preferably without an abuse filter?

Used to be a 15-min backup shutdown around 3.30am every night. Used to be a nightly game to get the last post in before it happened, if I remember correctly.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I'd usually just come back every few minutes and refresh. There's very little to do on the internet at that time.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
