Hermes Franca Jailed for 3 years for sex abause

A former Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight title contender has been sentenced to more than three years in prison after being convicted this week of sexually abusing an underage female student at his Clackamas martial arts school.

Hermes Franca Barros, 37, pleaded guilty in Clackamas County Court on Wednesday to one count of unlawful penetration and one count of first-degree sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 3½ years in prison.

He was arraigned in May on seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration. The remaining counts were dismissed.

Barros will also have four and a half years of post-prison supervision and must register as a sex offender.

Sad apparently the girl was 12

Before everyone gets there rant in, usual fighter abuse rules apply-awful story and at least he got punished because many don't.

Isn't this one of those times when fighter bashing is ok as long as we're bashing the FACT that he's a convicted paedophile?

Yeah he was literally proven guilty to 7 counts of Sexual Abuse and 2 of unlawful penetration. It doesn't get any more factual than this.

Always liked watching Hermes, puts a horrible cloud over any achievements he had.
So unassuming it's scary.

You can be factual but not suddenly start calling him every name you'd like to just because he committed a crime, he's a sexual abuser, paedo I don't know-for all we know he could have thought she was older, you ever see the 12 year olds on American talk shows.

but if she was a student of his iam sure he would have D.O.B etc on file?? and she was prob in a kids class too??

Jeez I don't know, point is we can't suddenly start fighter bashing, he's a criminal end of, I'm closing this anyway unless someone gives good reason to open it as no good can come of it and it's not that relevant to mma
