By “terrible time trying to insure it ” do you mean you cant get quotes or you don’t like the quotes you are getting?

I mean, no insurance company will quote for it because they don't have it listed.
I wouldn't mind if it was a 3.2L Turbo, but it's probably the lowest spec model in the impreza range. A Fiat 127 would be quicker than it.
Oh! and it's not a Jap import either.

Just insure as a 1.6 petrol impreza. I doubt spec means a whole lot to the insurer.

Isn't TS the same spec anyway?

Yip it does. Besides you can't insure your car as model x when your car is model y. Your insurance information is incorrect then.
My problem is that they only list 4/5 models, TS, RX, LX, GL, etc. So when you ring them, they can't quote you as the XI model is not on their system.

I'm nearly sure that the TS is the sport model, i.e. it has the WRX body. I also think the HP is slightly higher. But again, same as above, you can't get insurance for a TS when your car specifically is an Xi on the Log book, etc.

It just seems to get harder each year to find someone to insure it. My current insurer sent me an outrageous quote this year.
