Follow up on interviews - good idea?

I had two interviews on 20th and 21st of December. Would it be a good idea to contact the companies that interviewed me again, in order to find out about the status of my application? If I would do this, would it go against me? Thank you for your help!

I take it they didn't mention when they would get back to you? If not, then I'd follow up given the time frame.

Probably not anybodys fault and they are not ignoring you

New year, new budget and the top brass may working on that or playing catch up after the holidays

No harm getting in contact anyway
