CO2 Emissions From A Power Plant

    Hi,

I'm currently undertaking a final year project in civil engineering, the aim of which is to produce an EIS for a gas-fired power plant. After calculating emission rates and generating a dispersion model for the various pollutants that will be produced, a major question has arisen. How are CO2 emissions reduced normally in CCGT plants? I've reviewed the Best Available Techniques guidance notes from the EPA but they only state recommended practices for negating release of SO2, NOx and PM. Are there any particular preferred methods for reducing the CO2 concentrations in the effluent? Or is it a case of the designer choosing whichever they want, asking for EPA approval, and then proceeding from there?

Any help or info would be hugely appreciated!
