I'm planning on heading out tonight for a few pints. The plan is to head home for around 1:45 straight into bed then up at 7:45. Any tips for getting up early after a night of drinking?

Don't drink when you go out?

    You don't have to.

Eh, don't drink that much and get home early? /buzz killington.

But really. Water. Water between a few pints and before you go to bed. And coffee and painkillers in the morning. Or if you believe the ads alka-seltzer.

Coffee and Painkillers in the morning as someone already said. They're the real deal.
It's only comon sense to drink some water. You're going to be dehydrated after drinking alcohol. Anyone that doesn't drink water after that deserves to suffer.
If you're going home early you'll be grand anyway but if you're feeling a little bit bad at all in the morning I highly recommend you man the **** up!

Drink water till you can't drink anymore water when you come home. Will help with a hangover. Then put your alarm over near your door. Or at least somewhere that requires you to get out of bed for it. Jumping outta bed will kinda wake you up. Splash cold water onto your face a few times and eat an apple. That will wake you up more than coffee.

Develop some self control/the ability to have a good time without booze.

..and some pizzas for breakfast. Oh and a taxi.

hondasam: "early " is relative...if you're up at 6 or whatever then fine, the OP says it;s early for them...6 hrs sleep after a few pints will make it feel early to them. I'll be up at 6 myself...but "early" last week was about 10.

I take it back, it is early way to early for anyone to be getting up. Work should start at around 11am give us all a chance to get up.

Jess16, what do you consider early?

Nothing instant, but get yourself into a routine where you wake up early every morning.

That way it's never a struggle to get up for work.

Went to bed at 3am this morning (after 12 cans), and was up at 8 to mind my cousin's kid. That's how awesome I am.

    Yes.
Don't pee before bed. Try to go to bed while ever so slightly needing a whizz.

If you're anything like me, you'll wake up at around 6am needing to use the bathroom, at which point just stay awake.

You can turn off your alarm clock in your sleep, but not your bladder activated alarm clock.

    Well, lets hope not anyway.

Maybe one of those life line cure things might help.
But really its water while drinking, wash your teeth before you go to bed
and don't be too comfortable where you're sleeping!
Alarm on the phone and try and set an alarmed reminder 10 mins after the alarm.

Or I'll ring you for a tenner, hey sexy what's up.

No no I'm not whoring out my voice again I swore I'd never go back to that again.

Could be dangerous if too many pints are taken!

I agree with anyone that said that if you're going to be such a b!tch about only getting 6 hours sleep after a few drinks then you probably should just not bother going out!

true, still not funny if you blast your bed with piss. Mighty uncomfortable esp when it turns cold..............so a mate tells me.

A lad I used to know told me that he used to get home from the niteclub at about 3.30 a.m. and shave and dress for work. He would then set the alarm and go to bed dressed for work. When the alarm went off at 7.30 he would jump out of the bed put on his shoes and rush out the door for work.

    Don't drink.

It may seem impossible most Irish people but it is a sensible choice, considering the drinks probably won't be any benefit to you during the evening and will result in you feeling awful tomorrow.

Not that i would ever follow my advice but it sounds perfectly reasonable when i am not in the situation!
