How would you reform our political processes and structures? I was thinking about the costs and benefits of abolishing the Seanad which led me onto how I would reform the Irish political system as a whole. Has anyone got any strong opinions on how we should reform our political system?…

Political reform is desperately needed, but all mentioned reforms by the current government tend to be cosmetic rather than substantial - Seanad reform being the main example. Of course there's still a chance the upcoming constitutional convention might propose a few real reforms but I won't hold my breath.

A few changes I think would be good can be found here and here.
