Mens suit on a budget?

    Hi all,
I've scored an interview for next week and I need to get a suit before then, probably tomorrow.
I'm going to head out around town (Dublin) and Dundrum shopping center. So far so good but I don't know a whole lot about suits.
I know I want something contemporary but classic and if needs be I can forgo buying a shirt as I've got a nice white one, it is more wedding than business though.
Style wise, think Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid, Love.

What I really need to know I guess where are the best places to get this sort of thing and not have to pay too much for it.
I've got a budget of around €150 for the suit and maybe another €50-€70 for shoes.

Thanks in advance, any advice will be a huge help. :)

For the budget you can go high street but you have to shop around, meaning you will literally have to go and try on loads of jackets to find one the fits best and then hope the trousers fit well too.
I have a slim frame and long arms which means i am very limited to where i can buy, the best fitting suits off the rack are River Island Slim Fit (€128) and the next is Paul Smith Slim (€800), i rarely wear them so River Island suits me fine and looks way more expensive because it's cut so well for my shape.
You can probably get shoes in TK Max, it was the last place i saw decent looking clean shoes without a pointy or square toe.
Head out early and take your time.

Massimo Dutti might have something in the sale. Zara often have decent suits (though it's abot 50/50 between decent and not great). Both have shoes also.

Massimo Dutti is best, then Zara if the cut is right (they're gone a bit strange in an attempt to stay "trendy"), then M&S. Shoes are best from TK Maxx if they've good ones in stock, if not Zara, Next and M&S should have them in your budget.

Should we take it that you didn't bother reading his budget? Plus you can get significantly better suits for that price than theirs.

Wear the white one, that would be classic for an interview. :D

Thought of someone walking into an interview in a white suit brought an amazing smile to my face

The man from Del Monte might indeed say "yes".

    Cheers for the advice everyone.
I had a good roam around today and ended up buying a grey slim fit suit with a black trim from River Island. I've completely blown my budget and I'll be heading out again on Saturday for a new shirt, belt and shoes.
I can see this breaking €300 if I'm honest. Ah well, I'm a sucker for this kind of thing.
I'll see about throwing up a pic' when I've everything bought.

Shoes are proving difficult, everything is pointy or square, both things I HATE. :/

I'd love a white suit but I think my GF would just laugh at me. Haha

If it's for an interview you would have been better off going for a plain suit, the trim is really only party/seasonal wear but at the same time most won't notice.

    what about your birthday suit?!

M&S are great for shirts and try TK Maxx for belts they usually have a nice range of reasonably priced black ones and you might strike lucky with a pair of shoes there too.
