woodcock in your area

    I have been doing some reading into the numbers of woodcock this season, and i personally have never seen as many birds this year than in other year's,, sense the start of the season while iv been out and it's 99% woodcock shooting i do iv met in the region of 130 woodcock,20 bits of days, are you meeting the number's????

    I read recently that for some due to the mild spring that we had ther has been some what a population explosion amoung some species in Ireland and Britain..
    might have been on a link from the weather forum on boards
    cant find it now

    wood cock are not the only ones plentiful

    I'm up in the Wicklow mountains and I'm seeing more than I ever have in saying that I do a lot of shooting in Meath and have seen very little compared to last year. Was under the impression that because it's been so mild they are staying up on higher land?
