Should I refund the refund?

I ordered a pair of boots from Barratts online the end of Novdmber as a Christmas present. Early December they emailed me saying that the boots weren't actually in stock but one of there stores in the UK had them and would have them sent to me in time for Christmas.

The boots never arrived, so Monday I emailed them to complain. Yesterday morning they emailed me saying that my card had been refunded. And today the courier arrived with the boots!

There was a sticker on the parcel saying that the courier had tried to deliver on the 22nd December but couldn't because they had no phone number for me. So Barratts had sent them in time for Christmas.

Should I return the refund now? My initial thought was yes, but family/friends are all saying no.

Could the courier not find your house?
Or did he come to your address when there was nobody at home?
If the latter, why didn't he leave a note and you could have called the depot later?

Yes, you should! It's the only decent thing to do.

He didn't bother coming because he couldn't call to check if there was someone home!

Did you have to sign for it? if you did then they have a proof of delivery with your name so they know where the package is now if they follow it up.

Contact the company, and offer to post them back at their expense.

Thanks for the input guys. My first instinct was to give back the money. Glad you all agree. My family/friends appear to have no morals!

I've emailed them and told them not to process the refund. I'm assuming since I only heard from them yesterday that there's a good chance it hasn't gone through yet.
