    Hey guys,

I'm going to be starting work in an office up in Grand Canal Dock and am currently looking for accommodation in Dublin.

Can you guys recommend where the best places to look for affordable accommodation is.

    Thanks!

ringsend and sandymount are fairly close to there barring the expense of the city centre

Depending on how south in Sandymount, a bicycle (Dublin bike scheme?) or a train ticket (it's two or three stops away, but you may be feeling lazy :P) may be best.

I think Grand Canal Dock is in Ringsend? So that area would/should be walkable distance.

Anywhere on the DART line. There's a few threads already on places to live which are on the DART line.

Anywhere on the DART line, but also most of the Dublin 4 area (and some of Dublin 2 which is the city centre) is within walking distance.

You could also look at areas along the canal - parts of Rathmines and Ranelagh, but that walk might be a bit long and there are no public transport alternatives - cycling would be easy though with the new cycle/footpath they've built along the canal.
